A Saturday Saunter

Warm spring day. Wandered the main streets, finding a Chinatown and a Bicycle Expo!! Spoke to some very creative people trying to ply their wares in the street markets. I then succumbed to a ride on the harbour in one of those dinky ferries. The Captain was a jovial chap and happy to pass on historical bits and pieces. Seems like all of the original reasons for Victoria's existence...fishing, logging, mining, the Hudson Bay Company...have been surpassed by more modern economics, such as over 250 cruise boat visits a year with over 2500 passengers per boat!!

Lorraine arrived by shuttle from the airport, right on schedule at 4.30. She was amazed and pleased at how warm it was in Victoria. Much catch-up chatter back at the unit. When we decided that it was time for dinner we found a vibrant seafood bistro overlooking the harbour. We were outside on the balcony and when it became cool they provided soft blankets! Most pleasant.

Very Victoria...harbour seal, seaplane and cruise ship.

  1. All looks fantastic Kaz - you sound like a frustrated spoilt bike rider who has come from a privileged bike environment such as Vic Aust! Swap the bike for a Bi-Plane flight around the slopes of Vancouver & really get a 1st hand look of the place.
garder l'amour de vos vacances ma chère soeur. Colin.
