A Sunny Sunday

After a slow start Lorri and I joined our fellow locals and travellers on the sunny warm streets of Victoria. We were met by a navy parade recognising the Battle of the Atlantic WW2. That WW2 legacy still hangs over the world.

We strolled in the sunshine as I was able to act as the tour guide. Lorri was just as enthralled with the architecture of the homes and the beautiful gardens,as I was. No cruise ships in today. We went on the dinky ferry, but on another route, right up to the end of the estuary that Victoria is situated on ( I hate ending on a preposition!).

We then tackled the tourist shops. The assistant told us that as there were no ships in today, they would close at 8pm ( this is Sunday), but when the ships are in they stay open until 11 pm!!!

We then adjourned to an ornate olde English style pub for drinks and tea. Being so warm we ate outside. The night is still light and we are indulging in cups of tea and chocolate back at our roomy unit. The lights of the city are starting to take hold. A lovely balmy evening. So unseasonal. How lucky have we been?

Love the snow-capped Olympic Range in the background.

Even the turtles were enjoying the sunshine.

Couldn't put more colour in this photo if I tried.
