When one finally arrives you forget the drag of the journey! 13hrs to Dubai and 6 hrs to Milan. And of course the waiting in passport queues and the 2 1/2 hrs in Dubai airport. STILL, it is all part of the adventure. We did enjoy our Arabic petit fours in Dubai.
We caught the train to Milano Centrale, that stunning monolith of a station, and then a casual 10mins walk to our wonderful little hotel. Very comfortable and a pleasure to collapse into. After a relax and a shower it was a wander into the street for our first vinos and pizza. We sat outside in the balmy evening and watched the world go by in this quiet neighbourhood. Hoorah...holiday has started!
