Another 4 1/2 hrs later and we arrived in Boston. Two degrees and calm. We had lost 4 hrs or so and it was 5.30 pm. After a little delay we found our pre-arranged pick-up...a young Nepalese with a friendly disposition. Easy arrival at our street-level apt in the North End, known as Little Italy. Heater was on when we finally unlocked the door...after we realised that the door handles go UP and not DOWN. Light switches the same. Time for a deserved hot cuppa and an un-pack.
Finally it was time to hit the streets. We rugged up. Coats, hats, gloves and scarves. It was a lovely stroll of mere minutes to the main street of Little Italy. We loved the Christmas decorations, just as we expected. Eating places were busy but we eventually found a vacant table. Off with all the warms and ready for a wine and pasta. Wandering back we could see activity in a major church. They had just finished a concert of the Messiah. Disappointed that I had missed it but the percussionist told us of another Christmas Concert happening on Friday near the Boston Pops Hall. We have booked tickets!
Time for bed.
