Deep in sleep when Chris woke me at 6am for our 6.45 pick-up. Easy drive to the airport, 15 mins away, as all of the traffic was coming into town. A bit of a wait, but in the air by 10am and in Halifax at 12.30pm. We were delighted to see our first snow, light but there. A pleasant taxi driver delivered us to Shirley St, midst light rain and definitely colder. Negotiated the keypad and two doors and we were in. Lovely and warm.
After exploring our new abode it was a rug up to walk a block to the supermarket. A quick snack at Starbucks first. With Chris and Heather exploring the vagaries of a foreign supermarket we eventually had a healthy basket of fruit, nibbles, veggies and chicken for tonight's tea. A dash in the rain by me to get some wine and we were set for the plod home.
As we arrived, the owner of the AirBnB arrived. Laurie was keen to make sure that we had settled in fine. An ex-oil industry worker who had spent time in Oz, he was happy to chat for a bit and give us some excellent tips on what not to miss out on during our stay.
Nibbles eaten, meal consumed, a load of washing on and now the routine of internet gadgets has commenced.

Happy to cook in our new cubby house.
Settled in for a casual night.
